SCARVES

Scarves are made entirely of merino wool or a wool and silk combination.  Some include yarn, ribbon and sparkle.  Each is one-of-a-kind made with soapy water, heat, friction and lots of love.

VESSELS, PILLOWS AND WALL HANGINGS

  • Vessels can be filled with silk or dried arrangements, fresh flowers in a glass container or just left as sculptural forms.
  • Pillows can enhance any bed or couch.
  • Wall Hangings are wall decorations that can beautify any surface where color and texture is desired.

Wool Portraits

Photos are taken.  A pose is determined.  Next, wisps of flesh, eye and hair colored wool are needle felted into a felt base.  Features take shape as highlights and shadows are added.  Clothing and background complete the picture. Mimi calls it painting with wool.

PhotoMontage and Silk screen Prints

  • Photomontage is a combination of several images joined together for artistic effect or to show more of the subject than can be disclosed in a single photograph.
  • Silk screen printing is done in color stages printed with special inks squeezed through a fine silk screen.

Paintings

Paintings are done mostly with acrylic paints.  Subject matter ranges from earth to sky and everything in-between, including portraits.  The technique varies from tight precision to broad brush strokes.

Ceramics

Mimi devoted twenty years to her first love, ceramics.  She created  bowls, vases, casseroles, clocks, mirrors, tea sets and samovars.  She thought it fantastic to shape a lump of clay into something useful and decorative.
