NEEDLE FELTED WOOL PORTRAITS - PLUS
I work with photographs to arrive at the pose. Next, wisps of flesh, eye and hair colored wool are pierced into a base cloth with barbed needles. Features take shape as highlights and shadows are added. Background and clothing complete the portrait. Other felt works use the same method. I call it painting with wool.
